Chair
2016
This seat is the outcome of several craft and semi-industrial recipes developed in the workshop and laboratory. It is a demonstrator that tests and validates the technical and aesthetic capabilities of the material. The object results from combining a natural binder with various species of seaweed, which here replace glass fibre and play a specific role in the structure of this composite material. The industrial process best suited to this bioplastic is injection moulding. Recycling the biocomposites by shredding, grinding and sieving would make it possible to recover some of the fibres, which could then be injected into a thermoplastic again.
