A unique and entirely new object, the MS.86.Ulva bag is made from a material composed of 100% algae, in place of traditional animal hides. This new material, developed, tested and then proven over several years of research in collaboration with scientists, is fully biodegradable. It could replace both leather and plastic, in industrial and artisanal fields alike. Water-based assembly, offcuts returned to nature: the entire production process is part of an ecological approach that is as virtuous as it is radical. Creating the object drew on the expertise and know-how of upholstery, leatherwork and saddlery. A true dialogue between science, design and craftsmanship, this bag is above all a manifesto. It is an everyday object that reflects our desire to democratise this material and make it accessible to the general public.
