Paper
2019-21
In addition to polysaccharides, seaweed also contains cellulose, the polymer on which papermaking is based. This organic material is the most abundant on Earth and makes up 50% of biomass. By adapting craft tools to our materials, and thanks to the recipes we developed, we were able to make around ten types of paper, including cellulose–seaweed hybrids and 100% seaweed papers. All of them are fully biodegradable.
With graphic designer Aurélien Farina, we worked on techniques for shaping and finishing this paper for packaging and stationery. The aim is to root this project in an industrial dimension.
